SoundPLANessential Highlights

If digital data is available, the geometry is either imported or digitalized on the screen over a background bitmap. Additionally, you have access to an interface for Google Maps.

Intuitive, graphical model data editing

The site map is updated with acoustical properties for the sound sources (roads, railroads, parking lots, and point, line, and area sound sources) and objects that affect the path of sound propagation (e.g., buildings, noise barriers, or ground properties). Receivers for a single point calculation or the calculation area for two-dimensional contour maps complete the data model. Every object can be seen in both front view and 3D graphics, where their coherence can be verified.

Definition of the emission

You can compute noise emissions from parking lots, railroads, roads, and industrial sources with SoundPLANessential. You can add your own spectra at any time to the vast emission library, which already offers you a wide variety of spectra.

Parallel calculations through multicore and multithreading

Road, rail, or industrial noise can be compliantly calculated quickly and effectively with the original SoundPLAN calculation kernel, which has been quality-tested.

Tabular documentation

You can easily incorporate the emission parameters of the various sound sources and the results, which include the partial levels and dispersion parameters, into your reports because they are presented in tables in an easy-to-understand manner.

Graphical presentation of the results

Together with the model data, the outcomes of each individual place of immission are cartographically edited as tiny tables. Isophones can be shown using freely defined color scales for each time range based on the grid noise map computation results. It is possible to highlight boundary isophones.

Building Acoustics

When planning buildings, the extra module “BauAkustik” (“Building Acoustics”) is a very useful tool for noise remediation or safeguards against outside noise. It incorporates the use of the provided sound insulation library and facade optimization for an arbitrary number of facades and components.
