SoundPLANnoise uses a flexible modular architecture. Start with the base SoundPLANnoise package and add only the calculation standard modules that your project portfolio requires. This approach keeps your initial investment focused and allows you to expand capabilities as your work grows — without paying for features you do not use.
Each module adds one or more internationally recognised noise calculation standards to your SoundPLANnoise installation. All modules are interoperable, allowing multi-modal projects (for example, combined road, rail, and industrial noise assessments) within a single project file.
Choosing the right SoundPLANnoise module configuration depends on the countries you work in, the project types you handle, and the specific noise calculation standards required by local environmental agencies and project developers. In Asia and the Middle East, the most commonly needed modules are ISO 9613-2 (industrial/environmental), Schall 03 (railway), CNOSSOS-EU (for international projects or European clients), and CRTN/CoRTN (for projects in Singapore, Malaysia, and other former British territories).
SoundPLAN Asia provides tailored module recommendations based on your project history and anticipated pipeline. You do not need to decide on your final module set at purchase — modules can be added to your license at any time, and the modular pricing model means you only pay for what you need.
SoundPLANnoise runs on Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit). For small to medium projects, any modern laptop with 8+ GB RAM is adequate. For large strategic noise mapping projects covering entire cities, or complex 3D terrain models with many buildings, a high-performance workstation with 32+ GB RAM and a multi-core processor is recommended. SoundPLAN Asia can advise on hardware specifications based on your project types. Contact SoundPLAN Asia to discuss the right module configuration for your project portfolio and region.
