Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Noise Modeling

Noise is a standard chapter in most environmental impact assessments. SoundPLAN is used to predict noise levels from a proposed development at sensitive receptors, compare them against the applicable limits, and demonstrate the effect of mitigation - the evidence an EIA submission needs.

• Baseline and predicted noise levels at named receptors (residences, schools, hospitals)
• Construction-phase and operational-phase scenarios modelled separately
• Assessment against national limits and international guidance such as ISO 1996
• Mitigation testing: barriers, setbacks, enclosures and operating restrictions

Calculations use recognised standards including ISO 9613-2 for industrial propagation and CNOSSOS-EU for road and rail, so results stand up to regulator review.
